Genie Bicycles was born out of a desire to combine an innovative idea I had with my passion for cycling. I had refined and prototyped a way of dampening vibration in a standard double diamond bicycle frame. I often felt, at the end of long rides, that the bikes I had beat me up. They were very good bikes in many ways but something was missing. My design retained all of the qualities of a traditional bike that we’ve all come to love – but greatly improved the ride by reducing the amount of road buzz delivered to the rider. I’m very proud of the result. I assembled the best people to contribute to the bikes and it shows. The bikes look amazing and ride amazing too.

2011 - I will be taking a hiatus from retail sales. Life’s journey has taken us to Vancouver (from Calgary) where my wife has been accepted into the MFA program at the UBC but where there is little to no space for building! Stay tuned, I’m working on a new space and hope to continue building and will decide on resurrecting the retail end at a time when time and space resources become favorable. Thanks for reading.
